Utility Knife for Rubber Flooring — Retractable Aluminum Cutter
Cutting rubber flooring rolls requires a sharp, controlled blade — and a knife that can handle repeated scoring cuts through dense recycled rubber. This retractable aluminum utility knife is sized and built for flooring work: compact enough to maneuver along a T-Square guide, sturdy enough to score through rubber roll material cleanly, and safe to store when you’re between cuts.
Specifications
- Body: Premium aluminum alloy — rust-resistant, durable, lightweight
- Length: 5.5 inches
- Blade: 0.9-inch retractable, locks securely in the extended position
- Weight: Lightweight — fits in a pocket or tool pouch between cuts
How It Gets Used in a Rubber Flooring Install
- Scoring and cutting rubber rolls to length — position the 48” T-Square across the roll, score along the edge with the utility knife, and cut through; this is the standard method for cutting rubber flooring rolls at seams and perimeters
- Perimeter cuts and edge trim — trim rubber flooring to fit at walls, doorways, and transitions after the field install is complete
- Underlayment cuts — score and cut rubber underlayment rolls to fit the room before laying flooring on top
Complete the Installation Kit
- 48” T-Square — the guide that keeps your utility knife cuts straight across 4-foot-wide rubber rolls
- Double Sided Tape — for tape-down installations instead of adhesive
- Polyurethane Adhesive — for permanent glue-down rubber flooring installations
- V-Notch Trowel — for spreading adhesive when gluing down rubber rolls
