Polyurethane Adhesive for Rubber Flooring — Eagle Grip (4 Gallon Pail)
Not all adhesives work with rubber flooring — and using the wrong one means callbacks, failures, and flooring that lifts at the edges. The Eagle Grip Polyurethane Adhesive is a single-component, trowel-applied adhesive specifically formulated for rubber flooring installation. It requires no moisture testing, bonds to a wide range of subfloors, and holds up to both indoor and outdoor exposure.
One 4-gallon pail covers approximately 300 square feet of rubber flooring when applied with a V-notch trowel. If you’re doing a full glue-down installation on a rubber roll floor, this is the adhesive for the job.
Key Features
- No moisture testing required — saves time on concrete slabs where moisture readings are typically required before adhesive installation; Eagle Grip handles it without the extra step (with sound control applications)
- Wet-set, early grab, fast-curing formula — positions quickly and holds firmly so you can stay on schedule; no waiting around for it to reach a specific tack level
- High-strength, waterproof bond — resistant to moisture and water exposure after curing; suitable for below-grade, at-grade, and outdoor covered installations
- Non-staining and easy to clean — cleans up without leaving residue on the flooring surface if applied carefully
- Indoor and outdoor use — bonds rubber flooring in gyms, weight rooms, garages, commercial spaces, and covered exterior applications
Coverage & Application
- Coverage: 1 gallon covers approximately 75 sqft | 4 gallon covers approximately 300 sqft
- Application method: Spread with a V-notch trowel (1/8” x 1/8” x 1/8”) for correct adhesive depth and uniform coverage
- Approved flooring types: Rubber flooring, engineered flooring, solid hardwood flooring
- Subfloor compatibility: Concrete, wood, and a variety of other surfaces
Measure your room before ordering: divide total square footage by 75 to calculate gallons needed, then round up to the nearest whole gallon.
What You’ll Need for a Glue-Down Rubber Flooring Install
- Eagle Grip Polyurethane Adhesive — this product; 1 gallon per ~75 sqft
- V-Notch Trowel — required for spreading adhesive at the correct depth and coverage rate
- 48” T-Square — for straight layout lines and edge cuts before laying flooring into adhesive
- Utility Knife — for cutting rubber rolls to length and at perimeter edges
